Intensive courses in Nice
These courses (between 8 and 12 participants per class*, minimum age 18) emphasize oral study, though the written language is not neglected. On the basis of situations described in the textbook or the accompanying audio and video tapes, students are asked to hold discussions and express their opinions. Systematic oral written exercises are used to learn and correct grammar.
*This number may be exceeded by 1-2 persons due to level placement

 

Three options are available:  

·         20 Group lessons per week
The program allows the student to have other activities outside course hours.

 

·         30 lessons per week with 2 options:

1.       Language only

2.       Language + workshop on local culture and civilization (specific price list).

o        20 group lessons per week

o        + 10 lessons per week in mini-group course (4 to 6 students)

 

·         40 lessons per week

o        1 intensive course of 20 lessons per week

o        + 2 mini-group courses (4 to 6 students) of 10 lessons per week each.

Content of the courses

  • General French all year round
  • Preparation for the DELF
  • Preparation for the DALF
  • Preparation for the Practical Certificate of French Language of the Sorbonne
  • Special Study of the French Language
  • 15 to 18 students per group
  • Operate during the Academic Year (October to June)
  • Enrollment for 1, 2 or 3 terms
  • Course time lost due to holidays will be neither made up or refunded

 

 

INTENSIVE LONG TERM COURSES              RETURN TO COURSE MENU

  • 20 hours* per week:
  • 14hours of language courses
  • + 4 civilization lectures lasting 11/2hours each;

or

  • 14 hours of language and history of art class:
  • 41/2hours per week
  • + 11/2 hour of civilization lecture.
Please note :enrollment in these courses is valid for obtaining a long term student visa.

Extended Courses

 

These courses are designed to give the students an in-depth knowledge of French on both written and oral levels and prepare them to take any of the below exams. The method is the same as that used in the intensive courses, but a significant effort will be expected from students outside course time

  • Preparation for the DALF
  • Preparation for the France Langue diploma
  • TEF (testing center in Paris and Nice) of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Paris (CCIP).

COURSE IN BUSINESS FRENCH IN NICE (SUMMER ONLY)               RETURN TO COURSE MENU

Theses courses are intended for advanced students interested in economic issues. This program of 22 lessons per week prepares for the DAF1 awarded by the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The student may combine this course with a 10 mini-group lesson per week course in general French.

OVER 50s COURSE               RETURN TO COURSE MENU

Combine French language learning and French "art de vivre"!

Morning French classes and afternoon activities make up this program.

This programme is a good opportunity for senior students to refresh and improve their French, to visit the South of France and places of cultural and historical interests, to enjoy Provencal "art de vivre" cuisine, wine, perfume, villages, and Art with Matisse and Picasso.

The holiday includes courses at our language school with a special focus on oral practical French and excursions to various places along the French Riviera.

 

 

Levels:              Elementary to proficiency

                        20 lessons per week (15 hours / week)

                        Monday-Friday, 9.15am-12.00pm

                  12 students maximum

                  4 students minimum

                         

 

·                     Trips to Riviera treasures: St Tropez, Monaco and Saint-Paul de Vence

·                     Matisse and Picasso –viewing /appreciation

FRENCH AND FRENCH CUISINE:               RETURN TO COURSE MENU

Learn French and how to make delicious French dishes!

Using local seasonal produce bought in the market students learn how to make typical French dishes, assimilate everyday expressions and new vocabulary.

  • Shop in the market while using French and dealing with French people
  • Prepare the recipe of the day, specially selected to be easily made again when back home.
  • Enjoy meals made and when appropriate with wine.

Courses of French cuisine (10 lessons / week) can be added to a regular 20 or 30 lessons course or can be taken separately

Classes of 10 lessons per week divided into 2 parts:

  • one session for the preparation of a first dish and a main course
  • the second session for the preparation of desserts)

 

 

TRAINING FOR TEACHERS OF FRENCH               RETURN TO COURSE MENU

French civilization and culture are the basis of this training program which explores the subtleties of present day French language, classroom strategies and dynamics. An optional cultural program (tours and lectures) permits to discover the French way of living and local culture.
