Learn Languages Abroad

The school

Since it was founded in 1982, the school has evolved from small family business into an internationally recognised institute.

Initially specialised in teaching German as a foreign language, it  has also developed a department of foreign languages which today constitutes a significant part of the School’s activities.

The courses are geared towards those who want to acquire a language or expand their language proficiency for educational, professional or business purposes, or out of a general interest in the German language and culture. The courses are booked by private individuals as well as companies, institutions and organisations.

The school is large enough to operate professionally and efficiently, and small enough to ensure the that it can meet its primary goal -  to meet the specific language requirements of each student.

The school cooperates with the universities of Cambridge (UK), Cassino (Italy) and MUN St. John’s, NewFoundland (Canada) as well as with the European Orientation Programme, a language study programme sponsored by the Irish Government. The School is accredited by HÖGSKOLEVERKET (National Agency for Higher Education), Stockholm (Sweden) for CSN scholarships for  Swedish participants.

The School has for several years provided language courses for top German and international companies, among them leaders in their fields.

The school is member of FaDaF-Fachverband Deutsch als Fremdsprache e.V. (Professional Association of German As a Foreign Language) as well as of PROFIL-Professional Institutes of Languages.

The School is situated in the middle of the historical old town close to the university. The school premises are modern and functional and facilitate language studies in an international atmosphere.

CULTURAL AND LEISURE ACTIVITIES

In addition to language courses, we offer a wide range of leisure activities for our participants which appeal to individual interests, give them ideas for leisure activities of their own and helps them get in touch with German inhabitants.

Our cultural and leisure programme covers city tours, castle and museum visits, walks in the vicinity as well as excursions by bus, train and ship. It also includes meetings with German friends in pubs located throughout scenic Heidelberg, video evenings, visits to the movies as well as sports activities. These events are accompanied by experienced German tutors who are in general university students.

For example, a 4-week period includes 14 to 16 events, most of them being free of charge. The course fees include one complimentary all-day excursion, all other events – as far as they are charged – are offered at cost.
